A love of jewellery, passed down through generations.

My love of jewellery began long before Gemme London.

​

As a little girl growing up in the 90s, I was fascinated by anything that sparkled. I collected gemstone magazines, admired beautiful stones and was captivated by the stories that jewellery could tell.

​

But my greatest inspiration was my grandmother, Sandra.

​

Sandra grew up with very little. With Romany Gypsy roots, she understood the value of the things she owned and treasured every possession.

 

I remember her jewellery most vividly. Three gold rings, worn side by side — a chunky plaited gold ring on her middle finger, her diamond trilogy ring and wedding band, and a simple gold band on her little finger.

She wore them together, always. To me, they were the most beautiful jewellery in the world.

 

Those rings became part of how I remember her. Not because of their value, but because they were hers.

 

Today, Sandra lives with severe dementia, making those memories and the little details that connect me to her all the more precious.

 

Gemme London was born from that feeling.

The belief that jewellery is more than something we wear. It becomes part of who we are, the memories we make and the people we love.
